化石は無機質な石です。真逆の植物と組み合わせた作品となります。
モチーフは「ティラノサウルス」の頭部の化石です。
化石の表面を蓮池として表現しました。水流で揺れる水草を加えて、安らぎも感じられる化石を描き上げました。
ハスの花と葉っぱは、しっかりと茎があり、側面から眺めるとまるで蓮池のように見えます。ハスの葉っぱは大変水捌けが良く、よく弾かれている水滴を見ます。その潤いを表す水滴も再現して作画しています。
Fossil and Lotus Pond
A fossil is, by nature, an inorganic stone—cold, silent, and still.
In this work, I sought to pair it with its complete opposite: living plants.
The motif is the fossilized skull of a Tyrannosaurus.
Across its surface, I envisioned a tranquil lotus pond—where ancient remnants meet the gentle pulse of life.
By adding the soft sway of aquatic plants, I transformed the fossil into something peaceful, almost meditative—a quiet harmony between what once was and what continues to be.
The lotus flower and its broad leaves rise on firm stems, creating a scene that, when viewed from the side, resembles a serene lotus pond.
The leaves are remarkably water-repellent—droplets glide effortlessly across their surface, shimmering like tiny jewels.
In this work, I recreated those delicate droplets to capture the sense of freshness and quiet vitality that the lotus embodies.
