牛は身近な動物でもあるが、街に住んでいるとなかなか生で見る機会がない。世界中のほとんどの人間は「牛」にお世話になっているはずだ。「牛乳」「牛肉」はもちろん、農耕や運搬など多岐にわたる。同時に、牛は世界中にたくさんの品種が存在する。調べれば調べるほど興味深く、そして愛らしい目（まなこ）に見入ってしまう。そして、品種ごとに変わる「角」や「毛並み」「模様」が面白い。昨年、北海道にて牛の取材をしてきたが、もっと世界中のお洒落な牛の実物が見たくなるほどだ。

Cows are familiar animals, but living in the city, it’s not often we get to see them in person. Most people around the world have benefited from cows in one way or another. From milk to beef, and even in agriculture and transportation, cows play a vital role. Moreover, there are numerous breeds of cows worldwide, each with its own unique characteristics like horns, fur, and patterns, which become increasingly fascinating the more you research. Last year, I had the opportunity to cover cows in Hokkaido, which only fueled my desire to see more stylish cows from around the world.

2023年から始めた新作の「うし🐄」シリーズを是非ご覧ください。作画の技法の特製長、正面の顔を制作するのは大変難しい技術でした。自身のオリジナル技法のため、手本になる作品が無いからです。それを克服し、現在の作品となりました。「眼」もキラキラとする様に制作しました。作品の前でじっくりと目線を合わせて鑑賞を楽しんでください。

I invite you to take a look at my new “Cow 🐄” series, which I started year 2023. Creating the frontal face was particularly challenging due to the specialized technique involved in the artwork. Since it’s my original technique, there were no reference pieces to rely on. However, I overcame this obstacle, and the current pieces are the result. I also paid special attention to the eyes, making them sparkle. Take your time to appreciate the artwork and meet the gaze of the eyes.
